What is CapsaPDF?

A PDF toolkit for iPhone and iPad: merge, split, compress, scan, sign, redact, convert and more, 25 tools in all. Every one of them runs on your device, so your files are never uploaded.

Is CapsaPDF free?

Yes, with every tool included. There are no ads and no purchases.

Are my files sent anywhere?

No. CapsaPDF has no network features and no server, and it works without a connection. There is no account and no tracking. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Which iPhone or iPad do I need?

Any iPhone or iPad with iOS 26.4 or iPadOS 26.4 or later.

Which languages does it support?

The app is in English, Polish, German, French and Spanish. Text recognition (Make searchable) reads the languages your iPhone or iPad is set to, along with English and Polish.

Can I open Word, Excel or PowerPoint files?

Office to PDF converts Word, Excel, PowerPoint and RTF files to PDF on your device. While a file is converted, CapsaPDF blocks any attempt by it to load content from the internet, so pictures it links to online won’t appear.

Can I edit the text in a PDF, or turn a PDF into Word?

No. CapsaPDF adds to a page (text, notes, highlights, signatures and form answers) but doesn’t rewrite the text already on it, and it converts Word, Excel and PowerPoint files to PDF but not a PDF back to Word. PDF to text saves the words of every page as plain text.

Why can’t I search a page I redacted?

Redaction removes what you mark by turning each marked page into a picture with the black boxes burned in, so nothing under them can be copied back. A picture has no text, so run Make searchable on the result to bring back search for everything still visible.

Where are my files kept?

In Your files, inside CapsaPDF, protected by your device’s encryption. Share or save a file to put it anywhere else, such as Files or Mail. Your device’s backups, to iCloud or a computer, include CapsaPDF’s files, as for any app.

How do I delete my files?

Delete a file in Your files, use Settings › Delete all files, or delete the app, which removes everything CapsaPDF stored.
